Hello friend! Welcome to my online home where you can find out just about everything that’s going on in my life (well, sort of Instagram is really where it’s all at). Hopefully the words on these pages answer your questions, but if not, feel free to send me a message. Have a great day and happy scrolling!
First of all, let me just start by saying I am a jack of all trades… anyways, about me.
I was born and raised in San Diego to my wonderful parents Dan and Nina along with my two brothers Merrick and Connor. My parents had it pretty rough growing up and they wanted better for us, so they sent us to private Catholic schools: Blessed Sacrament Parish School, The Academy of Our Lady of Peace and St. Augustine High School.
When I was about 15 years old I started getting active in politics by getting involved in the late Senator John McCain’s presidential run.
Not really sure what I wanted to do after graduating from high school, I went to Grossmont College and worked part-time for Commander, Naval Air Forces as Assistant Protocol Officer. I later began working in San Diego County politics, first for Congressman Brian Bilbray and later for La Mesa mayor, Art Madrid. While working for the Navy I was able to do things like meet the late Neil Armstrong and help plan the first ever Carrier Classic in which then President Barack Obama came to San Diego to attend. I loved that job and worked there for three years.
During the 2012 election cycle, at age 19, I began an anonymous satire political Twitter account called RepubGrlProbs. Within a year the account grew to nearly 30 thousand followers, and later became a brand with a website, app, and 15 contributors.
Realizing I had a passion for political commentary, I transferred to The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and received my degree in Political Communications. In D.C. I continued to build my resume with jobs on Capitol Hill, as a fellow at the Young America's Foundation National Journalism Program, got hired on the digital team for Carly Fiorina’s Presidential Campaign, and to stay super well-rounded sold purses at Coach and was a part-time Uber driver.
I came back to San Diego in 2016 and became a news producer and an on-air political commentator for One America News Network while spending some nights as a karaoke DJ around San Diego (again, to stay well-rounded).
Tired of career politicians who are only concerned about the next election, in 2018 at age 25, I decided to run for Congress here in San Diego.
Today, I’m doing a million and one different things and I hope to take you on my journey.
There are a lot of fun things on the horizon for me but here are the projects I’m really proud of and how you can follow along or maybe work together.
Coming soon to all of the platforms near you, I will be launching a podcast called the Elephant in the Room that will highlight different leading ladies in the Republican Party as they tell you their stories. Be sure to follow us on Twitter so you know when we launch our first episode!
Liberals are good at branding, but so am I. If you’re a Republican looking to run for office (be it city council, school board or even water board) or looking to grow your business, don’t spend tens of thousands of dollars on a consultant. They are a waste of time and money. Let me help build your brand at a low cost and help get you elected.
I am happy that so many wonderful college campuses have hosted me to speak thus far and hope to continue to inspire the next generation of leadership to step up and take control of our future. If you’re interested in having me speak at your campus, you can send us an email with your preferred dates. If it works with my schedule, I’d love to come visit you! You can also keep up with me via social media. My personal favorite is definitely Instagram so that’s where you’ll find the most content (p.s. Maverick has an Instagram, too).
